The Opportunity
Based onsite at Glensanda, the largest granite quarry in Europe we now have an opportunity for a HSE Compliance Manager. This is a brand-new role to our site offering you a real opportunity to set your mark as the H&S expert onsite.
With the support of your operational colleagues & and a central Health and Safety function you’ll lead as an onsite presence for Health & Safety. Glensanda is a 6,000-acre site operational 24/7 with unique risks due to the location and accessibility of the quarry as well as the scale of equipment and processes involved onsite.
You’ll be a pivotal member of our team, supporting our operational team to ensure safe practices are upheld onsite. You’ll also be the local contact to support central initiatives by tailoring them into a bespoke model at Glensanda. You’ll lead training sessions and workshops to help further promote our safe working culture onsite.
You’ll lead on investigations & near-misses onsite. Conduct regular audits, to identify any potential hazards and prepare reports for senior management.
Glensanda is only accessible via the Aggregate Industries ferry from Benderloch, so you could either do a daily trip or stop onsite in free en-suite accommodation. The accommodation block is inclusive of a canteen, Gym, Sauna and Games Room.
Who are you
You’ll be Health & Safety certified, to IOSH or NEBOSH level.
You’ll have proven experience working within an industrial environment.
You’ll have knowledge of HSE regulations and legislation, with an ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
You’ll be people focussed, looking to implement new ways to help our onsite teams.
You’ll have excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
