Our delightful, sociable, and out-going 28-year-old client with Cerebral Palsy is looking for a Support Worker. Y loves spending time with her close-knit family as well as arts & crafts, baking and also enjoys “pamper” days at home getting her nails painted, she likes shopping, swimming and going out for the day, perhaps for a picnic if the weather is good. Y also enjoys watching films and TV and playing games appropriate to her level of communication and ability. If you think you might be a good fit we’d love to hear from you.
The Role/Client:
Our client has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user and hoist dependent. Y is non-verbal and uses Eye gaze, she uses an accent assisted communication device to communicate with her team. She has a gastrostomy which is used for administration of medication and fluid flushes and eats a blended diet orally.
Y is looking for an experienced Support Worker who will provide hands on support, sometimes working with another Carer. You will provide assistance with all areas of daily living including personal care, implement her therapy programmes and organising activities and trips. You will work with her team of therapists implementing any exercises or activities shown in her care plan.
About You:
You will have sound Carer/Support Worker experience (must have Care certificate, NV2 or equivalent) and must have the confidence to work on your own where required. You will be friendly, reliable, proactive and a great communicator with a positive outlook. Full training will be provided and you will be supported by a Team Leader, Case Manager and the wider team.
You will be willing to participate in our client’s love of baking and arts & crafts.
You will be a driver with a UK licence able to drive our client’s automatic car.
Y has two friendly dogs so you will be an animal lover with no allergies.
Pay:
£15 per hour weekends
Hours / Shifts
Two Saturdays per month
9:00 am – 9:00 pm = 12 hours x 2 = 24 hours per month
Two Sundays per month
12:00pm – 6:00pm = 6 hours x 2 = 12 hours per month
