The Opportunity
Join Aggregate Industries as a Plant Fitter at our Caldon Low site, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure smooth operations. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance. - Carry out planned maintenance and repairs to ensure asset reliability and longevity.
- Respond to unplanned breakdowns, ensuring the plant is returned to production quickly and efficiently.
- Develop and implement safe working methods for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Conduct daily plant inspections, documenting findings and reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, keeping work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
- Train and support operatives in basic maintenance tasks to improve overall site efficiency.
- Ensure all safety documentation is completed for maintenance activities, following company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and document plant stoppages and breakdowns, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Who You Are
You’re a skilled Plant Fitter with a solid background in mechanical maintenance and a proactive approach to keeping equipment in peak condition. Your technical expertise and ability to work as part of a team make you a valuable asset to any site.
- Strong background in mechanical maintenance, with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
- Proficiency in welding, cutting, and fabricating, with experience working from engineering drawings.
- Understanding of safe working practices, environmental policies, and risk assessments.
- Highly motivated, organised, and flexible, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable using digital systems to document maintenance activities and track performance.
