We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Capacity and Lead Time Planner to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the planning and optimisation of production capacity, lead times and quality. Ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to monitor, analyse, and forecast capacity needs while ensuring customer demands are met within specified timeframes.
What you'll be doing
Capacity Planning:
- Analyse production capacities to ensure alignment with business demands.
- Develop and maintain capacity models to assess future needs.
- Work with production and merchandising teams to balance supply and demand effectively.
- Work with production and fitting teams to drive quality improvements across all categories.
Lead Time Management:
- Evaluate lead time data and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize lead times.
- Monitor and report on lead time performance, ensuring compliance with customer expectations.
Forecasting and Scheduling:
- Use historical data, trends, and demand forecasts to predict future capacity and lead time needs.
- Create production schedules that maximize efficiency while ensuring timely delivery.
- Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in customer demand or production delays.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with operations, sales, and production teams to understand and communicate demand forecasts.
- Provide regular capacity and lead time reports to key stakeholders.
- Proactively address capacity constraints or lead time issues before they impact service levels.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in capacity planning and lead time management.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality and remakes.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks to capacity and lead times (e.g., equipment failure, supply chain disruptions).
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
What we'll look for in you
Experience:
- Proven experience in capacity planning, lead time management, or capacity, manufacturing and supply chain planning.
- Familiarity with production scheduling, forecasting, and demand planning.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning software (e.g., SAP, IFS or similar).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of inventory management and lean manufacturing principles.
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, including Production and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in APICS CPIM or similar supply chain planning certification.
- Experience with SAP, IRS and forecasting tools
