Zone Central is looking for a dedicated Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people. About the Role

As the Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the home operates in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards. You will oversee all aspects of care provision, staff management, and regulatory compliance while promoting a positive and inclusive culture.

You will lead and develop a dedicated team, ensuring all staff receive regular supervision, training, and support. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality care, safeguarding young people, and driving continuous improvement in line with the home’s Statement of Purpose.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and managing the home to ensure it provides a high standard of care and meets the individual needs of young people. Your duties will include:

Leadership & Management: Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, and development, ensuring all team members are supported and supervised regularly.
Safeguarding: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all staff understand their responsibilities and adhere to the Whistleblowing Policy.
Care Planning & Development: Ensure personalised care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed in collaboration with young people, families, and external agencies.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home meets all Ofsted requirements and standards, maintaining high-quality care provision at all times.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and review service delivery, implementing improvements to enhance the welfare and experiences of young people.
Budget & Resource Management: Oversee financial planning for the home, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and managed.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to provide holistic support for young people.
Health & Safety: Ensure all policies and procedures related to Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Risk Assessments are adhered to by all staff.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
At least two years of experience working within a residential children’s home, with one year at a supervisory or managerial level.
A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
Experience in safeguarding and child protection, with a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
The ability to work flexibly, including on-call responsibilities and out-of-hours support.
