Your New Role
- Supporting to deliver Aldi’s national and international reporting requirements (Corporate Carbon Footprint, SECR, CFD, ESOS and CSRD).
- Analysing the energy and carbon impact of projects across the business and monitoring Aldi’s progress towards net zero.
- Bringing to life our net zero pathway by working with Aldi’s key operational departments to implement energy and emissions reduction projects.
- Supporting Aldi to remain compliant with our Climate Change Agreement scheme.
- Supporting the National Sustainability Manager with the delivery of projects to reduce Aldi’s operational environmental impact including looking at energy, carbon, and water reduction across the business.
- Manage the relationship with external consultants who support Aldi with energy management and ESG (Environmental & Social Governance).
- Working with external consultants to complete progress reports for energy consumption and carbon emissions.
- Researching and proactively developing own knowledge of carbon reduction, energy & water efficiency technologies to provide the business with a commercial advantage, achieve cost saving targets and reduce its environmental impact.
- Maximizing internal engagement with colleagues across the business to gain buy-in for carbon, energy, and water reduction initiatives.
- Positively influence multiple levels of the business to continue to consider sustainability in their decision making.
- Monitor competitor activity in the relevant areas of Sustainability.
- Prepare paperwork (Memos, One-Page Business Cases, Approval Documentation) to communicate the team’s work and projects.
- Maximise external communication opportunities by working with our Customer Interaction Teams
About You
- Proven relevant experience in a sustainability related role.
- Experience delivering impactful Sustainability related projects or reports, preferably in the topic areas of energy or carbon.
- Experience with energy or carbon data analysis.
- Comfortable with processing large data sets.
- Experience in energy and carbon reporting, legislation and disclosure such as CFD, SECR, ESOS, CSRD.
- Knowledge of energy or environmental management systems (i.e. ISO 50001 or ISO 140001).
- Experience with colleague engagement or behaviour change programmes with the ability to positively influence stakeholders to gain buy-in for Sustainability initiatives.
- Experience developing business cases.
- Autonomous and able to deliver efficient project management with the ability to plan ahead and prioritise workload accordingly.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present to internal and external audiences in a simple and meaningful way.
- Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to deliver concise and clear briefing papers.
- Exceptional analytical skills and comfortable processing large volumes of data to track emissions and consumption.
- A team player and able to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- A champion of Sustainability who will support us to take the topic even further within Aldi.

- Salary starting £36,625 rising to £42,270
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 day a week remote working
