Manchester Airport Set to Offer Over 1,000 Jobs at Upcoming Careers Fair
Spread the word
Manchester Airport is preparing to host a large-scale jobs fair on Thursday, November 7, where more than 1,000 job opportunities will be available across various sectors. This event will provide a fantastic chance for job seekers to explore roles in aviation, hospitality, retail, and more, as the airport ramps up its recruitment efforts ahead of the busy festive season.
The jobs fair will be held at Wythenshawe Forum, located just five minutes from Manchester Airport, and will feature positions with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which operates Manchester, East Midlands, and London Stansted Airports. Around 250 of the roles will be with MAG itself, including positions in airport security, customer service, and operations.
In addition to MAG, a wide array of employers from the airport’s ecosystem will be present, offering opportunities with companies such as Jet2.com, Dnata, and Up & Away Aviation. Retail and hospitality operators, including Pret a Manger, JD Sports, World Duty Free, Doubletree Hilton, and Holiday Inn/Ibis/Tribe Hotels, will also be actively recruiting.
The jobs fair isn’t limited to aviation and customer service roles. Construction companies like MACE and NG Bailey, both involved in Manchester Airport's £1.3 billion redevelopment project, will be looking to fill positions in various construction-related fields. The ongoing transformation of the airport is expected to provide significant employment opportunities in the coming years.
Job seekers will also have access to resources through the Airport Academy, a partnership between Manchester Airport and Trafford College. The Academy offers free training and support for those on jobseekers' allowance, providing accredited pre-employment programmes to help individuals build the skills they need to succeed. This initiative is designed to support those who need additional assistance before applying for jobs.
The charity Smartworks will also be present at the event, offering assistance to women from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing professional attire for job interviews. Their ‘fashion as a force for good’ campaign helps boost the confidence of job seekers who are preparing for their first interviews.
Manchester Airports Group is optimistic about the potential of the jobs fair. “This is a great opportunity for people looking for a new challenge,” said Sinead Smith, HR Director at MAG. "With such a diverse range of roles available, from security and customer service to hospitality and construction, there is something for everyone. The event will give job seekers a chance to learn more about these opportunities and meet employers face to face."
Attendees can explore vacancies across more than a dozen employers and learn about the career paths available at Manchester Airport. The event is free to attend, and visitors are encouraged to come prepared to speak with employers about their skills and career aspirations.
With Manchester Airport’s expansion continuing, and new opportunities arising from the airport’s redevelopment programme, the jobs fair is expected to be a key event for anyone seeking work in the Greater Manchester area. Whether you’re looking for seasonal work or a permanent role, this event provides a prime opportunity to engage with employers and secure a job.
